[0.0s] previously on Dumbgeons and Dragons [30.0s] Are you ready buddy? Are you ready? Today's the day. [33.0s] What are we doing today? [34.0s] We're gonna steal Lord Neverember's ledger. [38.0s] Yeah, that sounds like a terrible idea. [40.0s] I make my way back to the Fallen Tower. [42.0s] It's you again. How are you? [44.0s] I'm excited for, I guess it's my first day of school to an extent. [48.0s] I think I'm like maybe gonna help save the world. [51.0s] I have a calling. I'm looking for some people. I think you might be one of them. [56.0s] What makes you say that? [57.0s] I don't know, Moot. I just have a feeling about you. [59.0s] You're gonna take your things, sneak on in there. You're gonna grab a ledger. [64.0s] I go to the desk. [65.0s] And inside is a ledger matching the description. With that you hear a noise. [70.0s] Three figures. They see you, they turn to you, and they draw weapons. [74.0s] Oh shit! [75.0s] What are you doing here? [77.0s] You see Merv and the other person go through the portal. [80.0s] I'm headed to the first bar I see. [83.0s] You come face to face with a dragonborn. [87.0s] For the love of Pete, you're big. [89.0s] You are a little bit smaller than me though. I just got here. [93.0s] Well, tell me about your travels. [96.0s] Welcome to Dumbgeons and Dragons. [98.0s] We're a D&D 5th edition actual play podcast. [101.0s] And I'm your dungeon master Russ More. [103.0s] And with me today is Amy More. [105.0s] Yeah, it's true. I'm married to this guy and I like to mouth the words as he says them. [109.0s] Which totally bugs him. [111.0s] And I play Sullivan Slyte. [114.0s] Also with me, Tom Laird. [117.0s] Hey, that's me. I just sit quietly until Russ is done. [120.0s] Unless I'm trying to interrupt him saying, fuck it, let's play D&D. [123.0s] Then I pounce like a goddamn Bengal tiger. [127.0s] And I play Moot. [129.0s] And with us today, Carla Johnson. [132.0s] I'm just like free and easy. I don't have a plan about how I'm going to irritate Russ. [136.0s] But I do know I'm always going to do it. [138.0s] I play Glim. [140.0s] Guaranteed annoyance just all around. [144.0s] Irritation. [145.0s] Comes with the package. [146.0s] In fun and exciting new ways every time we play. [149.0s] Every time it's something different. [150.0s] You're welcome. [151.0s] Thank you. [152.0s] If you'd like to give Tom, Amy, and Carla ways to irritate me, which they haven't already figured out, [157.0s] you can probably do that over on Patreon. [159.0s] Patreon.com slash dumb dragon cast. [161.0s] We're always looking for new ideas. [163.0s] Always looking like outside the box ideas. [166.0s] None of this just normal interrupt me stuff. [168.0s] If you want me to put water in Russ's seat before he sits down, just make it a little damp. [173.0s] If you want me to consume some sort of snack. [177.0s] You're taking away all of their thunder here. [179.0s] Could you slide an ice cube down his back while we're recording? [183.0s] I could. You want to see this table flip? [186.0s] I could release moths in the room. [190.0s] Oh, moths. [191.0s] Oh, yes. Russ has a deep fear of moths. [195.0s] It's the day all characters die. [197.0s] Oh, no. [198.0s] Oh, no. Not our character, our level ones. [201.0s] You think that's a threat for me, Russ? [203.0s] Yeah, right? [204.0s] Yeah, really, Russ. [205.0s] I'm not even attached to this character yet. [209.0s] Yeah. The goal. [210.0s] The goal is just to make everybody make as many characters as possible before season two is over. [217.0s] Yeah. [218.0s] And when you are a patron, speaking of which, you have an episode dedicated to you. [223.0s] And today's episode is dedicated to Dylan Powell. [228.0s] Thanks, Dylan. [229.0s] Hey, thanks, Dylan. [230.0s] Dill. [231.0s] Thanks, Dylan. [232.0s] I wonder if anyone calls... [233.0s] Do people call you Dill? [234.0s] Yeah, I'm wondering. [235.0s] I was like, Dill. [236.0s] I just did. [237.0s] And I'm like, I have a pot full of Dill out on my porch. [244.0s] Not the human. [247.0s] That's a good clarification. [248.0s] Good to clarify. Good to clarify. [250.0s] We won't murder you and put you in a pot if you're a patron. [254.0s] We'll just dedicate an episode to you. [256.0s] I'm going to edit that out of the podcast. [258.0s] That's probably for the best. [259.0s] And just Patreon.com slash dumb dragon cast. [262.0s] All the ways that you can irritate Russ. [264.0s] Just send them on over there. [265.0s] We'd love to hear them. [267.0s] Fuck it. Let's play D&D. [273.0s] Moot. [274.0s] Yeah. [275.0s] We find you. [276.0s] You had followed Gabriel from the Fallen Tower. [279.0s] Unknown direction at first, but he has led you to an open field by the riverside. [285.0s] Okay. [286.0s] So you are standing in the middle of this field and he says, okay, you stand there. [292.0s] And then he starts walking away from you a little ways. [295.0s] Does he load no van down by the river? [298.0s] I would assume as much. [299.0s] I really think so. [300.0s] He's like, you stay here. [301.0s] And he's just going home. [303.0s] You wait here. [304.0s] I'll be back. [305.0s] He seems like a very transient fellow. [306.0s] There's no van in sight. [308.0s] Doesn't mean there's not one, just not one in sight. [311.0s] He walks about 50 paces from you and turns around. [316.0s] And as he holds a tankard of ale in his hand and takes a big swig, says, all right, well, we're going to start your training, I guess. [326.0s] Okay. [327.0s] What do we do? [329.0s] Well, I brought you here. [333.0s] Because we're really close to you like to freeze stuff, don't you? [338.0s] I mean, that's just kind of the things that have happened so far. [342.0s] Yeah. [343.0s] Okay. [344.0s] Good. [345.0s] So I brought you here because there's water. [347.0s] Oh, for freezing. [348.0s] That makes sense. [349.0s] For freezing. [350.0s] See, you're catching on already. [352.0s] So what we're going to do is you're going to try and just feel it all out. [360.0s] What's the it in this scenario? [363.0s] What is it I'm feeling? [366.0s] Did we talk about wild magic, you and I? [369.0s] I mean, you kind of grumbled drunkenly about some stuff, but I didn't really catch too much. [374.0s] Okay. [375.0s] Wild magic. [377.0s] It's all around you. [379.0s] And you, my young sorcerer friend, have the ability to just pluck it from thin air. [387.0s] So whether you know how to do that or not, that's something we'll obviously have to get to. [392.0s] But we're going to figure out, A, how you can get to do that in a consistent manner. [400.0s] And once we figure that out, then it should just be easy peasy for you to just sling like sharp frozen objects at people or things. [410.0s] Don't hurt people. [412.0s] Yeah, I don't really want to hurt people. [415.0s] That's kind of why I want to get this under control. [418.0s] Yeah, yeah. [419.0s] That sounds like a really good idea. [422.0s] Okay. [424.0s] So close your eyes. [427.0s] Okay. [429.0s] Close your eyes and think about the last time that it happened really, really good. [437.0s] Oh, so when we were in the bar the other day. [441.0s] Now, was that really, really good or did that ruin my beer? [444.0s] Well, from my point of view, it seemed really good because I actually managed to do it, albeit a little too well. [450.0s] Potato potato, I guess. [453.0s] I mean, does anyone actually say potato? [456.0s] I met a guy once. [458.0s] Really? What was his name? [459.0s] Potato. [460.0s] Oh, his name was Potato. [462.0s] Got you there. [464.0s] Yeah, I mean, story checks out. [466.0s] I mean, it takes all types. [468.0s] Should I still have my eyes closed? [469.0s] What's happening here? [470.0s] No, keep your eyes closed, bud. [471.0s] You're fine. [473.0s] You hear him drinking heavily from his glass. [476.0s] I don't know where that was tankered from. [477.0s] Is he like Silent Bob but with like, did he use the beer? [481.0s] It's like, where did you even? [483.0s] He had it with him when he left. [485.0s] He just took it with him as a road beer. [490.0s] Focus really hard on a better time when it happened. [494.0s] If you want to use the ruined beer, that's totally fine. [497.0s] But see if you can't pull that same inspiration. [502.0s] Now, Tom, I'm going to get you to describe [507.0s] what Moot is thinking or feeling or saying [513.0s] as you are trying to do this and then roll me a d20. [519.0s] Okay, Moot is thinking about the incident in the bar from the other night [527.0s] because he was super stoked about how it went. [531.0s] Like, he wasn't sure he was going to be able to do anything. [534.0s] And then the fact that he ruined his beer because his magic was too good [539.0s] is like, he's still kind of strutting around because of that. [543.0s] So he thinks about that feeling of success that he had [549.0s] when he was trying to cast this magic. [552.0s] And he thinks about how he can just kind of almost reach out and touch it. [558.0s] Like, he knows it's right there. [563.0s] Should I roll now? [564.0s] Yes. [568.0s] Any bonuses or straight up? [570.0s] Use your spell casting modifier. [572.0s] Okay, 16. [576.0s] You are reaching out to where you think metaphorically or physically. [584.0s] I mean, kind of both because he's new at this. [587.0s] Cool. [588.0s] So you begin reaching out and Gabriel is standing back just kind of watching you. [595.0s] And what he sees and what you begin to feel is a shift in the air. [605.0s] The temperature around you specifically and out a little ways begins to drop. [612.0s] And you begin to feel the same power that came in surges both in the bar [622.0s] and when your family was being attacked by the cult and in the headmistress's office. [630.0s] Those quick surges of something that you weren't sure what they were. [637.0s] You begin to feel that this might be what everybody's talking about in Wild Magic. [646.0s] Gabriel sees this and feels the shift in the air as well. [651.0s] What is it that Moot casts in this moment? [655.0s] Moot casts the spell frostbite. [660.0s] So describe to me what it looks like as he casts frostbite. [664.0s] Technically, it's supposed to be cast on a person, [667.0s] but I'm going to cast it on just like the body of water that's nearby. [672.0s] Sure. [674.0s] So as Moot reaches out towards the water right at the edge where the water meets the land, [683.0s] you see like a cold frost starting to spread out along the water. [690.0s] And it gets a couple feet into the body of the water and then kind of peters out, [697.0s] but maintains around the edge. [700.0s] And there's kind of a thin sheet of frost and ice on top of the water. [706.0s] You open your eyes as you feel like you're doing something. [713.0s] And you see this frost stretching out into the water and down on the ground around you. [721.0s] And as soon as you focus on it, it snaps back and like sucks in towards you and disappears. [730.0s] Gabriel, did you see it? [733.0s] Yeah, yeah, no. [736.0s] Definitely saw it. [739.0s] Hey, he begins to walk over to you. [742.0s] He says, what had that feel for you when you were doing it? [746.0s] I mean, it felt really good. [748.0s] It felt like I don't know. [750.0s] I felt like an energy around. [753.0s] It was so close I could just reach out and touch it. [756.0s] And it felt amazing when I did. [760.0s] I think we need to find you a something to channel your energy, [766.0s] what they call an arcane focus. [769.0s] Oh, is it is that something that we need to like track down or buy or? [774.0s] No, no. [776.0s] Well, I mean, you could. [778.0s] Generally speaking, it's something that has some pretty high value to you. [784.0s] Personally, terribly or like sentimentally sentimentally more than anything, I think. [791.0s] Takes another big drink. [793.0s] Oh, you have anything on you that might fit? [797.0s] Yeah, I think I might have something before I left home. [802.0s] I I I borrowed something of my mom's kind of a keepsake to remember her by. [811.0s] OK, OK, what's that? [813.0s] I reach into my little messenger style bag and I pull out a feather necklace. [822.0s] It's quite simple in its look. [825.0s] There's about five feathers on it. [827.0s] The middle one is quite a large feather, doesn't even know what bird it's from. [831.0s] The other ones are eagle and falcon and all sorts of other feathers in this really large middle feather. [838.0s] But it doesn't look like much to the eye, but it means a lot to him. [842.0s] That yeah, that might work. [845.0s] Let's try it again. [846.0s] He spins around and he starts walking back in the other direction. [850.0s] I'll take it personally. [851.0s] I just don't want to get frosted. [853.0s] OK, do I what do I do with this? [855.0s] Do I wear it? [856.0s] Do I hold it in my hands? [858.0s] I mean, do what feels natural. [861.0s] You could put it behind your ear if you want to. [863.0s] But I mean, you seem to be using your hands to cast everything. [867.0s] So maybe try holding on to it and seeing, you know, close your eyes again, [874.0s] focus and try and take that energy and put it into the item that you hold into your mother's necklace. [885.0s] OK, so Moot kind of takes the necklace and kind of loops it around his fist. [892.0s] Once or twice all the feathers are kind of going down his wrists. [897.0s] And he holds out his arm and he touches the wild magic that he got before. [903.0s] And what happens to us? [906.0s] Does he succeed? Does he? [907.0s] You feel the energy course into you and you feel it transferred down and to the feather. [915.0s] You open your eyes at that moment, almost with a fear that you might ruin it. [922.0s] But when you look at it, you see a glow. [929.0s] You see almost a silverish blue aura to it and you feel it resonating in your hand. [942.0s] Are you going to cast the same spell or are you going to do something different? [946.0s] You know what? Let's do something different. [949.0s] It's going to be Ice Knife. [951.0s] What are you aiming for with an Ice Knife? [953.0s] Because there's an attack roll that comes along with that as well. [957.0s] Are there any, like, stumps or anything nearby? [960.0s] Yeah, yeah. We'll say there's a couple full trees and a couple stumps, whichever you prefer. [965.0s] I'm going to go for the stump. [967.0s] OK. [971.0s] So that is, with the plus five, an eighteen. [975.0s] As you open your eyes and you see this, you feel like you can throw this energy. [981.0s] And you do so. [982.0s] Yeah, I see this kind of blue, silver, I mean, ball of energy, for lack of a better term, [991.0s] kind of start to spread out in his hand. [996.0s] And it looks not like a traditional throwing knife, but like maybe one of those double-bladed throwing knives. [1004.0s] You know, those really cool ones. [1008.0s] Like two pronged or like both sides? [1011.0s] Like both sides. [1013.0s] OK. [1014.0s] Mood sees this in his hand and kind of thought comes to him that he should throw it. [1018.0s] So he throws this ice shard towards the stump that's near Gabriel. [1026.0s] I mean, not too close to him. [1028.0s] How close is the stump to Gabriel? [1030.0s] Like ten feet to his right. [1032.0s] OK. [1034.0s] The knife flies from your hand, soaring in the direction of Gabriel and this stump. [1041.0s] And it strikes deep into the stump and explodes, shooting shards of ice out. [1048.0s] And Gabriel kind of jumps back and spills his beer all over himself. [1054.0s] Looks at his drink and looks at you and says, well, you ruined another drink. [1059.0s] I mean, maybe we just maybe we just shouldn't be drinking while we do this. [1063.0s] Are you the teacher or the student? [1067.0s] I mean, student. [1068.0s] But if you if I keep ruining your beers, I don't think that's going to be great for either one of us. [1073.0s] He begins walking towards you and goes to drink from his cup, which is pretty much empty. [1077.0s] So he just kind of looks at it and shakes it. [1079.0s] And he says, what you did there is you you pulled the wild magic from the very air itself. [1091.0s] You, sir, with some practice are going to be very successful. [1096.0s] That's awesome. [1098.0s] It's very awesome. [1100.0s] Don't throw knives at me anymore. [1102.0s] I mean, it wasn't really at you. [1104.0s] I just I didn't know it was going to explode. [1106.0s] I'm sorry. [1108.0s] When was how many knives have you thrown in your life? [1111.0s] How sure were you that you weren't going to hit me? [1113.0s] Well, I mean, we used to throw them on the farm a little bit, but I just didn't know it was going to explode. [1119.0s] I've never thrown a knife that exploded before. [1121.0s] He turns around and begins walking away, throwing his his drink to the ground or his empty cup to the ground again. [1133.0s] Last we saw Sully and Glim, they had met outside a tavern nearest Castle Never. [1141.0s] I'm going to say that we're still in that tavern. [1144.0s] So we're a little bit earlier in the day with Moot right now. [1147.0s] Later in the day with Sully and Glim. [1149.0s] We'll kind of catch up as we go through here. [1152.0s] But so what are Sully and Glim up to as the door closes behind you and you are now in this tavern? [1162.0s] It's a rather busy night. [1164.0s] There's many tables that are filled. [1165.0s] But as Glim was kind of on her way out, there is a table still that she perhaps was sitting at that is that is vacant with a couple chairs at it. [1176.0s] Feel like want to grab a seat or something? [1178.0s] Want to grab some food? [1179.0s] I could go for some food. [1181.0s] Well, I'll join you for a drink. [1183.0s] Great. [1184.0s] You sit down at the table and a waitress comes over and she says, [1190.0s] You're back again and you brought a new friend. [1192.0s] I'm back. [1193.0s] I made a friend and I thought I'll have another drink. [1196.0s] Why not? [1197.0s] That's what everybody says. [1198.0s] Why not? [1199.0s] Indeed. [1200.0s] You know this waitress to be Vex Lana. [1204.0s] She says, well, what can I get you? [1205.0s] Well, I'll have another pint of ale. [1207.0s] Vex Lana. [1208.0s] Thanks. [1209.0s] I look into my coin purse and see that there's nothing there. [1215.0s] Why don't you let me get the first round? [1218.0s] Oh, that's so kind of you. [1220.0s] So kind of you. [1221.0s] Thank you. [1222.0s] I will have an ale as well. [1224.0s] A little, little short, you know, paydays. [1229.0s] She's coming right up. [1230.0s] On the way. [1232.0s] And then she walks away to go get those for me. [1234.0s] So when we met, Sully was clearly like... [1238.0s] Shifty as fuck. [1240.0s] Yes. [1241.0s] Right? [1242.0s] I'm remembering that correctly. [1244.0s] Yeah. [1245.0s] So your initial view of Sully was perhaps he was panicked. [1250.0s] Might not be the right word, but... [1252.0s] Definitely. [1253.0s] Definitely some shifty eyes. [1254.0s] Definitely some shifty eyes. [1256.0s] You saw a book in his satchel that judging by his demeanor, judging a book by its [1262.0s] cover, looked like it might be a little bit out of place. [1265.0s] And he perhaps was like looking over his shoulder. [1268.0s] Right. [1269.0s] Also weren't their bells tolling? [1270.0s] Yeah. [1271.0s] Yeah. [1272.0s] The alarm bells were going at Castle Never. [1273.0s] Yeah. [1274.0s] Yes. [1275.0s] Yeah. [1276.0s] And you saw... [1277.0s] He saw me coming from that direction. [1278.0s] Guards and various police running towards Castle Never in the opposite direction of [1283.0s] the way he was coming. [1284.0s] Right. [1285.0s] Okay. [1286.0s] That is what I thought. [1289.0s] So are you from around here? [1291.0s] Oh, no. [1292.0s] No, not me. [1293.0s] Nope. [1294.0s] Just passing through. [1297.0s] You know how you just find yourself in these kind of places. [1300.0s] Oh. [1301.0s] Well, no, not really. [1302.0s] I've never really just found myself in a place. [1304.0s] I've either stayed somewhere by choice or chosen a destination and gone there. [1309.0s] You're telling me you've never been drugged in the middle of the woods and then shown [1312.0s] up in a city you'd never been to before? [1314.0s] Oh, uh, no. [1316.0s] I can definitively say I have never done that. [1319.0s] Is that... [1320.0s] Huh. [1321.0s] How... [1322.0s] You were in the woods and then you just woke up here? [1324.0s] Oh. [1325.0s] Well, that... [1326.0s] You know. [1327.0s] I'm sure it happens to a lot of people. [1329.0s] So tell me your story. [1330.0s] You're a big, shiny dragon lady. [1333.0s] Dexlana comes back and puts the drinks down in front of you and says, [1336.0s] Can I get you anything else? [1337.0s] Oh, thank you, my dear. [1338.0s] Thank you. [1339.0s] Are you hungry? [1340.0s] Well, I could eat. [1341.0s] Why don't we get some nachos for the table? [1345.0s] I love nachos. [1346.0s] I love nachos. [1348.0s] But they're for you. [1349.0s] I'm trying to, you know... [1351.0s] Sure. [1352.0s] You're trying to what, Carla? [1353.0s] Pander to my poor person who... [1355.0s] I'm trying to not make it obvious that I am trying to buy you food, [1359.0s] because I think you will be too proud to just accept it. [1363.0s] She says, uh, yeah, one round of special... [1367.0s] Special... [1368.0s] Whatever night this is... [1370.0s] Table nachos coming up. [1373.0s] Special night table nachos. [1376.0s] Those are my favorite. [1378.0s] Those are the best. [1380.0s] So, since you've never really been anywhere, dragon lady, [1382.0s] like, what are you doing here? [1384.0s] Oh, well, I am on a mission to save the world. [1389.0s] I'm drinking my beer at this point, and I'm like... [1393.0s] I'm sorry. [1394.0s] Save the world? [1397.0s] Yes, I know. [1398.0s] From what? [1399.0s] Well, I mean, right now it seems like Tiamat is the main threat to the world. [1406.0s] You'd have to agree, right? [1407.0s] I mean, this cult of the dragon is just running roughshod over all of Faerun, [1411.0s] and everything is just going absolutely crazy, [1414.0s] and I'm a follower of Vahamet, so obviously Tiamat and the cult of the dragon [1418.0s] are my natural enemies. [1421.0s] I'm against them, of course. [1424.0s] Yeah, for sure. [1425.0s] Who's not against all them? [1427.0s] Of course, right? [1428.0s] All good people are, I think, against the cult of the dragon. [1433.0s] Of course. [1434.0s] Well, you know. [1436.0s] So I'm not sure... [1437.0s] It takes all kinds, right? [1441.0s] So good ale, right? [1442.0s] So you're Neverwinter to save the world because things are going down here? [1448.0s] Are people coming here? [1450.0s] Is the cult of the dragon coming here? [1453.0s] Did you hear anything? [1454.0s] What have you heard? [1455.0s] Are they coming here? [1457.0s] Do you have some secret information? [1459.0s] I'm just super curious. [1460.0s] I'm a little bit nosy. [1461.0s] Vex'lana comes back and lays a plate of nachos, [1466.0s] which we're going to invent here within this world, [1468.0s] which are thickly sliced potatoes that are fried up. [1476.0s] There looks to be a very curd-y cheese on top, [1479.0s] and strips of kind of an oily black meat on top, [1487.0s] as well as some various vegetables. [1489.0s] Sully starts stress-eating immediately. [1492.0s] You like the eel, do you? [1494.0s] Oh, yeah. [1495.0s] It's super good. [1496.0s] It's straight to my hips. [1497.0s] I just can't help myself. [1499.0s] All right. [1500.0s] Well, call if you need anything. [1501.0s] Chew. [1502.0s] Watson. [1503.0s] So tell me everything you know. [1504.0s] So to answer your question, no. [1507.0s] I don't know anything about the cult of the dragon coming here. [1510.0s] My own personal mission in saving the world [1515.0s] requires me to find help from two individuals. [1522.0s] So that's what's brought me to Neverwinter. [1525.0s] And then after I leave here, [1526.0s] I'll have to go and declare myself to Bahamad. [1529.0s] And there's a lot of steps to saving the world [1532.0s] I didn't really realize before I was trying to do it. [1535.0s] There's a lot of travel, a lot of things you need to do. [1539.0s] The hardest part of saving the world is the commute. [1541.0s] Always. [1542.0s] No, I totally get it. [1543.0s] You know what? [1544.0s] And I'm really sorry I can't help you out [1545.0s] because I don't know anybody in this city. [1547.0s] I told you. [1548.0s] I just kind of like am visiting short time. [1552.0s] Term. [1553.0s] Short term. [1554.0s] Short term for a short time. [1556.0s] Actually, I'm on my way out. [1559.0s] Tonight's my last night here. [1560.0s] Oh. [1561.0s] Oh, that's too bad. [1562.0s] I had so enjoyed meeting you. [1564.0s] Where's your next stop? [1565.0s] Oh, you too. [1566.0s] Well, I got to find my buddy Merv. [1568.0s] I'm not entirely sure where he is. [1571.0s] Oh. [1572.0s] Um, where did you last see him? [1575.0s] In the woods before you came here? [1577.0s] Or here in Neverwinter? [1579.0s] Oh, here in Neverwinter. [1580.0s] Yeah, no. [1581.0s] You know, we met when I arrived [1584.0s] and we just bonded immediately [1586.0s] over some really stressful circumstances [1590.0s] and then he just like kind of whipped into a portal [1594.0s] like one does. [1595.0s] And so I'm just gonna search for him. [1600.0s] You know, Sully, your life is very different than mine. [1604.0s] I've never fallen asleep in the woods [1606.0s] and woken up somewhere else [1607.0s] and I don't know I've ever even seen a portal. [1611.0s] Oh, just big swirly, [1613.0s] makes a mess of everything around it. [1615.0s] It's overrated. [1617.0s] Steals friends. [1618.0s] Huh. [1619.0s] And are you gonna go try and find a portal [1622.0s] to find Merv? [1624.0s] Maybe. [1625.0s] You know, everywhere I go, [1628.0s] I seem to find a friend who might be able to help me [1631.0s] because, I mean, you can't just go and just find a portal. [1633.0s] You gotta know somebody, you know? [1635.0s] Both of you make a perception check [1637.0s] because you're sitting around. [1640.0s] Seventeen. [1641.0s] Oh, I'm a fucking minus one. [1643.0s] Level one characters, my dude. [1645.0s] That's weird. [1646.0s] Fourteen. [1647.0s] Both of you notice as you're discussing [1650.0s] very different lives. [1652.0s] Some people come in to the tavern. [1655.0s] Glim, especially, you see that [1658.0s] they're wearing very official guard armor [1663.0s] and they are coming in, [1665.0s] trying to be as quiet as possible, [1667.0s] but begin coming into the room. [1669.0s] There's three of them and they kind of fan out [1671.0s] and they're just kind of walking around [1673.0s] looking at people [1675.0s] and kind of overlooking tables as they walk in. [1678.0s] Gotta take a whiz, Sully. [1681.0s] Sully slides down from the, what I assume, [1684.0s] chair that's taller than he's comfortable [1689.0s] and starts to meander to the bathroom area. [1693.0s] Do you take your bag with you? [1695.0s] I absolutely do. [1696.0s] I never took my bag off. [1698.0s] That tracks. [1700.0s] Well, I'm just gonna keep my eye on those guards [1704.0s] because I do kind of suspect that they're, you know, [1708.0s] looking for my new friend. [1710.0s] Sure. [1711.0s] I'm slipping, I'm going in the way of the bathroom [1714.0s] and I'm slipping out, slipping through the window. [1719.0s] Okay. [1720.0s] You see your friend Sully move towards the bathroom [1723.0s] and the guards themselves [1725.0s] are continuing to go table to table. [1727.0s] One of them satisfied that the other two [1730.0s] are kind of taking the room, [1732.0s] begins to walk back towards the bathroom as well [1734.0s] for no particular reason. [1736.0s] Probably has to take a whiz. [1738.0s] That's going around. [1740.0s] Is he, yeah. [1743.0s] Is he near me? [1747.0s] Yeah, we'll say he's passing, [1749.0s] he's like a table away from where you are, [1752.0s] so he's walking past you nowish. [1754.0s] Okay, so I'm gonna kind of like [1756.0s] look towards the bathroom and then look back at this guy [1759.0s] and say like, excuse me, sir. [1762.0s] He kind of takes another step [1764.0s] and then stops and turns and says, [1766.0s] what can I help you with? [1768.0s] I was just wondering who you're looking for. [1771.0s] I've been here most of the night, maybe I could help. [1774.0s] There was a robbery at Castle Never [1777.0s] and you see him scrutinizing you [1780.0s] and something quite valuable was taken. [1784.0s] So we're looking for an individual [1788.0s] who might be in possession of that. [1791.0s] Oh, what'd they take? [1792.0s] Was it, wait, can I guess? [1794.0s] Was it the crown jewels? [1798.0s] No, no, it was not the crown jewels. [1802.0s] Was it a precious fur stole [1808.0s] that belonged to the lady of the castle? [1812.0s] No, no. [1816.0s] Like birth certificate? [1818.0s] You said you were here all night? [1820.0s] This keeps going on. [1822.0s] What's going on, Sully? [1823.0s] You make it back to the bathroom. [1825.0s] I go through the very small window they have. [1831.0s] I jimmy it open. [1836.0s] There's no window. [1839.0s] That Neven Rolte fell dead on a one. [1843.0s] Boom. [1844.0s] There never was a window [1846.0s] and there's never gonna be a window, baby. [1849.0s] Windows don't exist in this world for you. [1852.0s] Paved it over, which is weird [1854.0s] because paving goes on the ground, not on the wall. [1857.0s] I open up my bag [1863.0s] and I take out the contraband [1869.0s] and I take, want something waterproof [1873.0s] that I have in my bag. [1875.0s] We might have like a water skin or something. [1877.0s] Yeah, that would work. [1879.0s] I do. [1880.0s] I quickly cut it open. [1882.0s] It's a very big water skin [1885.0s] and I wrap it, the ledger, tightly within it [1891.0s] and then I slide it in a toilet tank. [1898.0s] Like, yeah, I'm trying to water-brush a toilet in this world. [1904.0s] Nope, nope, we don't. [1905.0s] I was thinking it was more of a pit situation. [1908.0s] We've got what's called a hole in the ground. [1910.0s] Maybe with a board over it or something. [1913.0s] I never really thought about the insides of the tavern bathers. [1918.0s] What if there's just like a communal hand-washing sink [1922.0s] and maybe the water's real gross [1924.0s] because everybody's been using it to wash their hands [1926.0s] and you could just put that in that dirty water. [1928.0s] More of a trough, yeah. [1930.0s] Well, it's better than the hole in the ground, Amy. [1933.0s] It's certainly better than the hole in the ground. [1935.0s] Yep, it is. [1936.0s] So I slip it and it is concealed [1941.0s] under the water in the communal hand-washing trough. [1947.0s] As soon as you do so, the door behind you opens. [1952.0s] And I start to wash my hands. [1956.0s] But like nonchAlydintly, I'm not whistling or anything. [1958.0s] Not like how you just did it. [1960.0s] No, much sneakier. [1962.0s] Just washing my hands in here by myself. [1965.0s] Definitely not hiding anything in the sink here in the dirty water. [1968.0s] You turn and you see just another, not one of the guards, [1973.0s] but just another patron walk in [1975.0s] and see you quickly rush and put your hands in the water. [1979.0s] You're all right? [1982.0s] Yeah, you know when you wipe, but you miss a little. [1988.0s] He silently keeps walking towards the stall. [1993.0s] Good luck with that. [1994.0s] Thanks. [1995.0s] You know what I'm talking about, though, buddy. [1997.0s] Yeah. [1998.0s] Don't pretend you don't. [1999.0s] So he walks into the stall. [2001.0s] All I want to talk about right now [2005.0s] is what the inside of this bathroom looks like. [2007.0s] Right? [2008.0s] I know. [2009.0s] I'm obsessed. [2010.0s] There's stalls now and like, OK, I can kind of picture it, [2012.0s] but like, oh, it's incredible. [2015.0s] I've never really delved into the sanitation situation in Faerun. [2021.0s] It's probably real dirty. [2023.0s] Well, it's almost certainly horrifyingly gross. [2025.0s] There's no fine water, so it... [2027.0s] It's, you know, it's as clean as clean can get. [2031.0s] I wonder if they have magic clears. [2032.0s] It is near Castle Never, [2034.0s] so it's not like you're in the slum part of town. [2037.0s] There's just only so much that can be done [2039.0s] in a place without running water. [2041.0s] New podcast idea. [2043.0s] We designed fantasy bathrooms, kitchens, houses. [2048.0s] I love it. [2049.0s] I like it. [2050.0s] Flip this fantasy house. [2064.0s] Welcome back to the middle. [2066.0s] We had a contest running on... [2069.0s] It ended on June 30th, [2070.0s] and we gave it away at the beginning of July there, [2073.0s] but we haven't really been back [2075.0s] because there was a bonus episode last week, [2076.0s] so we just want to say congratulations [2078.0s] to William Rhino Henderson. [2080.0s] Congratulations, William. [2082.0s] William. [2083.0s] Congratulations and a huge thank you to you [2086.0s] and to everybody else who participated [2088.0s] by sharing a link to the show [2091.0s] or to your favorite episode on Facebook or Twitter. [2094.0s] We will be doing another contest very soon-ish [2098.0s] that you can participate in there [2099.0s] and hopefully win something really cool [2101.0s] because William, he won the adventure module [2104.0s] Ghosts of Saltmarsh, [2105.0s] and we still have one more [2106.0s] that we want to give away too, [2107.0s] so just keep locked here. [2109.0s] That's what radio people say. [2111.0s] No, keep it locked here. [2112.0s] Listen to all the episodes on repeat [2114.0s] and then start again. [2115.0s] Yep, that's right. [2116.0s] You got it. [2117.0s] Speaking of things that we have going on [2119.0s] that we're super proud about, [2121.0s] we are up for nomination [2123.0s] for the 14th annual People's Choice Podcast Awards. [2128.0s] Ooh. [2129.0s] I totally knew this was a thing before Russ told me. [2133.0s] It's all right. [2134.0s] I just assume that nobody knows anything [2136.0s] until I tell them. [2137.0s] Yeah, fair enough. [2138.0s] I mean, you've been proven that time and time again. [2141.0s] In this company, that is a safe assumption. [2144.0s] So how you can help us win that [2148.0s] is by going to podcastawards.com. [2152.0s] Click on the Nominations Now Open button. [2155.0s] All you have to do to be able to vote in that [2158.0s] is give them your name and email address. [2161.0s] And after the nominations are all done, [2163.0s] they say they purge it from their system [2165.0s] and no longer hold on to it. [2167.0s] So I'm going to take them at their word [2169.0s] because, you know, why not? [2170.0s] Russ, what was that website again? [2172.0s] Podcastawards.com. [2174.0s] Click on the Nominations Now Open. [2177.0s] But all you got to do is vote for us [2178.0s] in the games and hobbies [2179.0s] and the People's Choice. [2180.0s] We would love it if you could do that. [2182.0s] That would just make our hearts all warm and fuzzy [2184.0s] because then if we win, we get an award. [2187.0s] And we like, we've never received an award [2189.0s] for the podcast before. [2190.0s] Oh, it'd be so cool. [2191.0s] It'd be amazing. [2192.0s] Russ said there's a trophy. [2194.0s] There is a trophy. [2195.0s] Oh, God, I love it. [2196.0s] We'll have to share custody of the trophy. [2198.0s] Just mail it around? [2199.0s] Yeah. [2200.0s] We'll lose more money mailing it around [2202.0s] than we'll gain anywhere else. [2204.0s] But I think it'll be worth it, [2206.0s] at least for the first couple months. [2208.0s] We'll be so proud. [2209.0s] Yeah, absolutely. [2210.0s] So if you've already voted, [2212.0s] I know some people in our Discord already voted. [2214.0s] Thank you very much. [2215.0s] If you haven't voted, please do. [2217.0s] I mean, even if it's not for us, [2218.0s] we would really appreciate it if it's for us. [2220.0s] But if you see somebody else on there [2221.0s] that you think is better, [2222.0s] then vote for them. [2223.0s] Oh, yeah, that's totally fair game. [2225.0s] 14th Annual People's Choice Podcast Awards. [2227.0s] Podcastawards.com. [2228.0s] I'll link it down in the description [2230.0s] so that you can click right there [2231.0s] and just enter in your info [2233.0s] and toss us a vote. [2234.0s] We'd really appreciate it [2235.0s] because you're all beautiful people [2236.0s] and we love you so very much. [2238.0s] True, agreed. [2239.0s] Yeah. [2240.0s] In the meantime, [2241.0s] while you're doing that, [2242.0s] I'm going to give you [2243.0s] the back half of this episode. [2244.0s] If you don't do that, [2245.0s] the episode mysteriously stops. [2247.0s] Oh no. [2248.0s] Whoa. [2249.0s] Oh. [2250.0s] I don't know how I'm going to do that. [2252.0s] I'll figure it out. [2253.0s] That's why you're the tech guy. [2255.0s] We're in trouble. [2256.0s] Alright, hope you enjoy [2257.0s] the rest of the episode. [2258.0s] Next week is a new episode. [2261.0s] We kind of stopped telling you [2262.0s] when things are coming [2263.0s] because we kind of forgot. [2264.0s] New episode comes out next week, [2266.0s] next Wednesday, July 17th. [2268.0s] Hope you enjoy it. [2269.0s] We'll talk to you soon. [2271.0s] Up above, you see [2274.0s] blood red clouds [2275.0s] boiling across the sky. [2276.0s] I hear that you're only [2277.0s] about to go on an adventure. [2279.0s] You know how Amy likes [2280.0s] to have me running around [2281.0s] worrying about things. [2282.0s] You see armies at your back, [2284.0s] dwarven, elven, human. [2286.0s] You see all the races [2287.0s] under your command [2289.0s] and you wickedly smile [2290.0s] back at yourself. [2291.0s] We can do this the easy way [2293.0s] or we can do this the hard way. [2295.0s] And you see this light [2296.0s] being shattered [2297.0s] into seven different pieces. [2299.0s] It's not worth the risk. [2301.0s] Just say it's part of [2302.0s] my inquisitive nature. [2303.0s] I have been following you [2305.0s] for a very long time. [2307.0s] Do you want to count down? [2309.0s] Three, two, one. [2313.0s] Now. [2314.0s] And you feel the ball [2316.0s] drop out from beneath you. [2318.0s] The Lucky Die podcast [2319.0s] is a weekly 5E Dumbgeons and Dragons [2321.0s] actual play podcast. [2323.0s] Join our adventure [2324.0s] every Monday [2325.0s] wherever you download podcasts [2326.0s] by searching for The Lucky Die. [2330.0s] Moot, you and Gabriel [2331.0s] are walking out of the field. [2333.0s] You've been practicing [2336.0s] slinging various spells all day. [2340.0s] We'll say you probably [2341.0s] haven't cast Mage Hand [2343.0s] or Magic Missile [2344.0s] but all of your [2345.0s] frost-based stuff. [2347.0s] We'll say that you have [2349.0s] practiced. [2350.0s] You're feeling pretty good [2351.0s] about it at this point. [2353.0s] So you two are [2354.0s] walking back through the street, [2356.0s] presumably headed back [2357.0s] towards the Fallen Tower. [2360.0s] So you're sticking around [2364.0s] for some time? [2368.0s] What's your plan? [2369.0s] I mean, short of learning [2372.0s] how to cast this magic [2374.0s] and make sure I don't [2375.0s] hurt anyone with it, [2376.0s] how long do you think [2377.0s] I should stick around for? [2379.0s] Seemed like we had [2380.0s] a good day today. [2381.0s] It was a pretty good day. [2383.0s] I mean, we can definitely [2384.0s] do that again. [2385.0s] I feel like, you know, [2387.0s] there's some extra stuff [2389.0s] that you could be doing. [2391.0s] Okay, I did have [2392.0s] some questions. [2394.0s] Yeah, sure, shoot. [2396.0s] Okay, so it's called [2397.0s] wild magic. [2400.0s] What's wild about it? [2402.0s] It's an energy source [2404.0s] that is tapped into [2406.0s] and has come to our world [2408.0s] through various rifts [2411.0s] or tears with other worlds. [2414.0s] Oh. [2415.0s] And not everybody has [2416.0s] the ability to feel that energy. [2420.0s] And those that can, [2422.0s] we call them sorcerers. [2425.0s] They have a very specific [2427.0s] magic set and they use [2429.0s] that magic to cast spells [2433.0s] that, for people of this world, [2436.0s] would otherwise have to [2437.0s] study in order to, [2440.0s] say, using incantations [2442.0s] or somatic abilities [2446.0s] and he moves his hands [2447.0s] and light begins to glow [2449.0s] and he puts it out. [2450.0s] Oh, so over at Nogwoods, [2453.0s] that's why they have [2454.0s] all the books and things there. [2456.0s] Got it, got it, got it. [2457.0s] Exactly, yeah. [2459.0s] So as much as you yourself [2462.0s] can get into that, [2463.0s] if you so desire, [2465.0s] your powers will grow naturally [2469.0s] as you begin to hone [2471.0s] and perfect the spells [2474.0s] and abilities that you currently have. [2479.0s] Is there a way to, like, [2482.0s] improve my training [2485.0s] or is it all just like, [2486.0s] do I just have to put in the reps? [2488.0s] I mean, you just kind of got to, [2490.0s] you just kind of got to do it. [2491.0s] You got to feel it. [2492.0s] You got to just feel it [2494.0s] kind of course through your veins. [2497.0s] Moot takes out a little notepad [2499.0s] and he writes, [2500.0s] feel it and then do it. [2504.0s] Aw, that's so cute. [2507.0s] You like to keep notes. [2510.0s] It's good, it's good. [2512.0s] Well, I just find at the end of the day, [2514.0s] I can kind of look over [2516.0s] everything that happened [2517.0s] and then I remember it a lot better. [2519.0s] Sure, no, that totally makes sense. [2523.0s] I myself used to write a lot of things down. [2525.0s] I don't, I don't so much anymore. [2527.0s] But I'm glad you found me. [2528.0s] Where, where are you staying, kid? [2531.0s] I'm actually, they gave me a room over at Nogwoods. [2534.0s] They said I could stay there for the time being. [2536.0s] Just indefinitely? [2538.0s] No charge? [2539.0s] I don't think it's like an open invitation [2540.0s] to stay forever, but, you know, [2542.0s] for the time being they said, [2543.0s] yeah, you know, when I tracked you down [2545.0s] and all this stuff, they just said, [2546.0s] yeah, you can stay here. [2547.0s] So I thought it was really nice of them. [2550.0s] Interesting. [2551.0s] All right. [2552.0s] Well, good, milk it for all it's worth [2554.0s] because they're cheapskates over there. [2557.0s] What do you mean? [2558.0s] Well, I mean, they're going to [2559.0s] probably start charging you. [2560.0s] So just watch if they start slipping [2562.0s] like bills underneath your, [2565.0s] underneath your door. [2567.0s] Start getting you to do odd jobs. [2569.0s] That's payment. [2570.0s] Oh, I don't mind doing odd jobs. [2572.0s] That's fine. [2574.0s] Fair enough. [2575.0s] Fair enough. [2576.0s] I mean, it's good to work. [2577.0s] It's good to work. [2578.0s] Can't always live in a van [2579.0s] down by river. [2580.0s] Don't know what you're talking about. [2581.0s] Shall we go? [2582.0s] Shall we go get a get a drink? [2586.0s] Do you drink? [2588.0s] I don't know if I've actually [2589.0s] seen you drink. [2590.0s] Yeah. [2591.0s] I partake every every once in a while. [2594.0s] It's I mean, it's not really my thing [2596.0s] yet, but I think at some point [2598.0s] I'll I'll I'll enjoy it a lot more. [2601.0s] But yeah, let's let's go. [2602.0s] Cool. [2603.0s] All right. [2604.0s] Well, I haven't had a drink [2605.0s] in the last four hours [2606.0s] because you ruined my last one. [2608.0s] We'll go do that. [2609.0s] I promise not to ruin any beer this time. [2614.0s] I'll ruin something of yours. [2617.0s] Oh, he said I wouldn't. [2619.0s] I'm just letting you know. [2621.0s] Oh, OK. [2625.0s] You guys begin to walk back [2627.0s] and you make it back [2628.0s] to the Fallen Tower [2629.0s] and it's just starting to get [2630.0s] busy at this moment. [2631.0s] It's getting to be dusk. [2634.0s] And we cut back to Glim [2636.0s] who is talking to the guard still [2638.0s] and the guard looks defeated. [2640.0s] Like he he knows he can't walk away [2642.0s] because you're you're engaging [2645.0s] in the investigation that he's doing. [2648.0s] But he's like, I just [2650.0s] I just want to go is the look [2653.0s] you have he has in his eyes. [2655.0s] Doesn't matter. [2656.0s] Just let me die. [2657.0s] Is it a small figurine [2660.0s] that the Lord's mother-in-law [2664.0s] gave him as a test to see [2667.0s] if he would pass it on to his daughter? [2670.0s] But then he lost it. [2672.0s] But then he found it. [2673.0s] And now he's worried [2674.0s] that it got stolen. [2676.0s] He slams his hand down on the desk. [2679.0s] It's a book. [2680.0s] Oh, a book. [2682.0s] It's a book. [2684.0s] A precious book. [2686.0s] Fairly precious. [2688.0s] And who do you think took it? [2690.0s] He kind of looks around [2692.0s] sees that the other guards [2694.0s] aren't really finding [2695.0s] what they're looking for. [2696.0s] He says there was an individual [2699.0s] who was seen selling linens [2703.0s] at Castle Never [2706.0s] with a friend went in [2709.0s] came out without the friend [2712.0s] and the alarm started going off [2714.0s] prior to that. [2716.0s] Short fellow. [2718.0s] I've been told he talks a lot. [2721.0s] Have you seen anybody like that? [2723.0s] I don't think I've seen a linen seller. [2727.0s] What's Sully doing in the bathroom? [2730.0s] Still vigorously washing his hands [2732.0s] until this dude leaves. [2735.0s] I'm going to say this dude is coming, [2738.0s] he's come and gone [2739.0s] and he's looked at you [2741.0s] still washing your hands [2743.0s] and actually just leaves the water alone [2745.0s] he's like, I'm good. [2748.0s] Not cool, man. [2749.0s] Not cool. [2750.0s] Cleanliness is next to godliness, you know. [2752.0s] I'll go wash him next door [2755.0s] and he leaves. [2758.0s] That's really weird about him [2760.0s] washing his hands. [2762.0s] Alright. [2764.0s] I draw a mustache on myself. [2766.0s] With what? [2767.0s] With my little stinker disguise kit. [2772.0s] With my, well, naturally [2777.0s] as a person who [2782.0s] fools people a lot [2784.0s] I must have [2787.0s] I must have a disguise kit. [2791.0s] Not must have. [2794.0s] Hold on. [2796.0s] Do you have expensive linens [2797.0s] you could change into? [2799.0s] No, it'll be so suspicious. [2801.0s] Because I don't want to pass as a linenery. [2804.0s] I forgot about the linens. [2805.0s] Me too. [2806.0s] I don't know how. [2807.0s] Still a word. [2808.0s] So funny. [2809.0s] I swear to god as I made this [2812.0s] I had [2814.0s] I put down disguise kit. [2816.0s] Well now I'm just real sad. [2818.0s] Maybe you had it [2821.0s] and it was taken from you [2824.0s] as you were in jail. [2826.0s] Well now I can't quite remember [2827.0s] what I told her that I would have. [2830.0s] I have an oil flask [2833.0s] that won't do anything. [2835.0s] Anyway. [2837.0s] Well, if you say you had a disguise kit [2840.0s] we can say you have a disguise kit [2842.0s] which has a marker in it [2844.0s] or a pen in it or something. [2845.0s] It sure does. [2846.0s] A grease pencil or something. [2847.0s] Or just a mustache. [2849.0s] Or just a mustache. [2850.0s] And I put a mustache on [2852.0s] and I come out. [2855.0s] Okay. [2857.0s] I guess I'm still talking to this guard. [2861.0s] Yeah, you're at this point [2862.0s] just discussing the fact that it's a book [2864.0s] and he's giving you the description [2866.0s] of the linenist. [2868.0s] And you hear the bathroom door open [2871.0s] and out of the corner of your eye [2873.0s] you see Sully begin to walk out. [2875.0s] And you see Glim talking to the guard. [2879.0s] Very intently at this point [2881.0s] because he's just like [2883.0s] shut her up for who knows how long. [2885.0s] I give a little tip of my invisible hat [2888.0s] and I mosey on the fuck out of there. [2893.0s] Make a... [2895.0s] Mosey check. [2897.0s] Mosey check. [2898.0s] Roll for mosey. [2900.0s] Make a stealth check. [2904.0s] Fuck me. [2905.0s] Twelve. [2906.0s] You quite cockily begin to mosey out thinking [2911.0s] you have the greatest disguise of all time. [2914.0s] Is she like twirling it as she was? [2917.0s] I am, yeah. [2920.0s] I'm like doing finger guns at people as I leave. [2922.0s] You're about halfway to the door [2923.0s] so you're now kind of passing [2925.0s] where Glim and the guard are [2927.0s] and you hear from behind you [2928.0s] one of the other guards yell, [2929.0s] There he is! [2932.0s] I turn and like to look behind me [2935.0s] to be like, [2937.0s] like, where? Who? [2940.0s] You see two guards rushing towards you. [2942.0s] I still look behind me. [2944.0s] Like, where is he? [2945.0s] There's ten feet away from you. [2947.0s] And then I look and I point my finger at me [2949.0s] and I mouth. [2951.0s] They are at you now and... [2952.0s] Hey buddies! [2954.0s] They grab you by the shoulders [2955.0s] and say you're coming with us. [2957.0s] Hold on a second. Why? [2959.0s] Because you were one of the last people [2963.0s] in Castle Never. [2965.0s] I have never once been to Castle Never. [2968.0s] Make a perception check. [2974.0s] Six. [2976.0s] What am I perceiving? [2978.0s] You look up at the guards [2979.0s] and you now notice that one of them [2981.0s] is one of the guards that you talked to [2984.0s] going into Castle Never. [2986.0s] Cool. [2987.0s] He says, You were there. [2989.0s] I was not! [2991.0s] He reaches down and pulls off your mustache [2994.0s] and says, You were there. [2997.0s] I smacked my hand. [2999.0s] You were trying to sell linens. [3001.0s] Who sells linens? [3003.0s] You! [3005.0s] What do you even call somebody who sells linens? [3009.0s] You're coming with us and they begin to... [3011.0s] Hold on. Is this because I'm short? [3013.0s] They're walking and they... [3015.0s] Both of them have picked you up by the armpits. [3017.0s] And I'm bicycling. [3018.0s] My leg's in the air. [3020.0s] Glim, what are you doing? [3022.0s] The guard says, Well, it looks like we might have found [3026.0s] the person we're looking for. [3028.0s] Glim! [3030.0s] Glim! [3031.0s] Glim! [3032.0s] Hey! [3033.0s] Yeah? [3034.0s] Don't forget to wash your hands. [3037.0s] Okay. It was nice to meet you. [3040.0s] I wave goodbye. [3042.0s] I thought you said that you didn't see someone of... [3046.0s] I said I didn't see a linenist. [3048.0s] I didn't know that he was a linenist. [3052.0s] Touché. [3054.0s] Might we ask you to come with us as well [3057.0s] just to confirm that you aren't associated? [3062.0s] I mean, you can ask Vex'lana. [3066.0s] I was here all afternoon. [3069.0s] Vex'lana comes, sees this happening. [3072.0s] She comes over. [3073.0s] She was here all night. [3076.0s] That one, he came in most recently [3078.0s] and just kind of stopped and turned Glim around. [3082.0s] Yeah, she was here. [3084.0s] The guard kind of thinks about it and says, [3088.0s] All right, okay. [3090.0s] He turns around and he goes to walk it. [3093.0s] I am going to go wash my hands. [3098.0s] I assume he said it significantly. [3102.0s] Well, actually, it's just something he reminds people to do. [3106.0s] He's like, All right, buddies. [3107.0s] Yeah, yeah, keep it tight. [3108.0s] Keep it tight. [3109.0s] Hey, wash your hands. [3110.0s] So you go back into the bathroom. [3113.0s] I presume you go into the male bathroom, [3115.0s] but I'm not certain if that's what you're going with. [3117.0s] Are they gendered, do you think, in the tavern? [3119.0s] Nah, probably not. [3121.0s] Again, there's so much for us to talk about about these bathrooms. [3125.0s] Let's say unisex. [3127.0s] Sure. [3128.0s] Okay, so I go into the bathroom. [3131.0s] And you see the hand washing trough, several stalls, [3137.0s] all of which have their doors slightly open. [3139.0s] It doesn't look like there's anybody currently in there right now. [3142.0s] I guess I go, and like trepidatiously, [3145.0s] it's so dirty, it's really gross. [3148.0s] It's not for washing hands. [3150.0s] It's really gross. [3151.0s] It's really gross. [3152.0s] It's really gross, yeah. [3153.0s] But I'll just stick my hand in there, see what I find. [3159.0s] You reach in and you find a water skin [3162.0s] that looks like it's been cut open [3164.0s] and kind of very hastily folded back over [3168.0s] with a feel of a book on the inside. [3174.0s] So I pull it out and put it, [3177.0s] well, I mean, I do this a lot [3179.0s] to try and get some of the water off of it [3183.0s] and pull it out of the water skin [3186.0s] and shove it in my bag. [3188.0s] I don't investigate it any more than that. [3191.0s] It's definitely the book that you saw in Sully's bag. [3193.0s] And you slide it in. [3195.0s] And then, we'll cut back to Sully here. [3199.0s] You're being walked down by three or two of them [3202.0s] carrying you kind of underneath the arm. [3204.0s] Am I heavy? [3205.0s] Is your arm getting tired? [3207.0s] They're not responding to you. [3209.0s] And one of them leans down to you [3211.0s] and says, Miss Man Meow Meow [3213.0s] is not going to be very happy about this. [3216.0s] Oh, Miss Man Meow Meow has nothing to worry about. [3219.0s] Mm-hmm. [3221.0s] It's supposed to be a quiet chat. [3224.0s] Well, it was. [3227.0s] Until someone portaled in there and stole Murph. [3231.0s] Mm-hmm. [3233.0s] Was that you? [3235.0s] Did I portal in there and steal Murph? [3237.0s] No, I mean, did Miss Man Meow Meow do that? [3240.0s] Why would Miss Man Meow Meow [3242.0s] portal in and steal a prisoner of her own? [3244.0s] I don't know. [3246.0s] But that was, you have to say, [3248.0s] extenuating circumstances, for sure. [3251.0s] Yeah, you can explain to her [3253.0s] why you didn't go back with the book [3256.0s] to explain that to her once we get back. [3259.0s] It's called laying low, God. [3279.0s] We now find Moot. [3282.0s] Not Sullivan's Light. Get out of here. [3284.0s] No, I know, but I just went [3286.0s] at the same time as you were talking. [3288.0s] Do you want to say that again? [3289.0s] I mean, you do it all the time. [3297.0s] Shame. [3298.0s] Yeah, good. [3299.0s] Should probably get Amy one of those Hannibal Lecter masks. [3304.0s] It's your turn to talk now, Amy. [3306.0s] He says, [3308.0s] Hit me with your best shot. [3310.0s] Fire away. [3314.0s] Ice, ice, baby. [3316.0s] Oh, wow, we're just jumping all over the place here. [3318.0s] Well, because it's not really fire [3320.0s] that you've got going on. [3322.0s] It's ice. So, you know, [3324.0s] you're as cold as ice. [3329.0s] This is going to be a fun one. [3331.0s] You're right. Oh, boy. [3333.0s] Oh, misses wildly. [3335.0s] It's very, very [3337.0s] stump has really good AC, [3339.0s] really good AC that stump [3341.0s] and uncanny dodge, which is [3343.0s] unexpected. Can we recruit [3345.0s] this stump to help us save the world? [3347.0s] Because we might need them.
